Financial Assessment

You can complete the form for yourself or on behalf of someone else, if you have their permission. The guidance should help you complete the form, but if you need assistance, you can email our Adult Social Care Finance Team outlining the specific issue on ascffinancialassessments@leics.gov.uk.

What is a financial assessment?

The financial assessment is a confidential online self assessment tool which will give you an indication of how much you might need to contribute towards your care and support needs, either at home or in permanent residential care.
Completing the form online is the quickest and easiest way to find out how much you might need to pay towards any support services provided by Adult Social Care.
You can complete the financial self-assessment form if you:
  • have had a care and support assessment from Adult Social Care, or
  • want to know how much you might have to pay towards any future care and support needs

Assessment Criteria

Most people have to pay something towards the cost of their care. The amount you are required to contribute depends on your income and capital (savings and assets).
If you have more than £23,250 in savings and assets which are included in your financial assessment, you will be liable to pay the full cost of your care and support services.
Please be aware that when your financial assessment is completed any benefits that you are entitled to but are not receiving will be included in the calculation.
